This show is near and dear to my heart because it is how I became friends with comedian and producer Cory Cavin.

Cory and I knew each other for a few months before co-hosting this show, we grew to know each other through performing and booking this show together. We performed monthly from 2014–19 at Three of Cups in New York’s East Village.

It was a kind of fantasy of mine when I started doing comedy to have a show that was one of those secret, if you know you know, hole in the wall shows in Manhattan. The show was always free and when we started the drinks were $2 for PBR and $4 for well drinks. We begged all of our friends to come to the show each month and we were able to pack the place out the first month and from then on word of mouth did a lot of the work.

Free show, cheap drinks, convenient location, cool dive bar, good comedians, including Jim Gaffigan, Michelle Wolf, Nate Bargatze, Mike Birbiglia, Tim Dillon, Ilana Glazer, John Early, Roy Wood Jr., Gary Gulman, Mark Normand, Janeane Garofalo, Joe List, and Dan Soder.

Three of Cups closed on April 1 2019 after being open for over 25 years. The owner Anthony Barile invited us to the closing party and thanked us for always packing the place out.
