Growing up in a devoutly Christian home, Kevin was saving sex for marriage.

After moving to New York City to pursue a career as an actor, he quickly fell in love and got engaged. A month before his wedding, he called it off and found himself in a precarious position, a 30 year old virgin. A story of heartbreak and horniness that has been called a perfect combination of “brutal honesty and awkward hilarity” that is “one of the most intimate comedy shows” you’ll ever see.

The show premiered at the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where it was applauded as “fantastic, hilarious, and engrossing.” The comedy special was filmed at St. George's Episcopal Church in New York City in January 2019.

Like a virgin

In February 2017, I applied for a spot in Edinburgh Fringe. I had the title for a new show but I had not written anything yet. I got a coveted slot but it took me a few months to have the courage to do the show.

The first performance was June 2, 2017 in my friend Elizabeth's apartment in Brooklyn. I had a hard time selling tickets, so I asked friends to host house shows so they would get their friends there, BYOB, and some snacks. I performed in a barn, in a backyard next to a blow up pool, and in an art gallery.

Touched for the very first time

Once I arrived at Fringe, my venue was a room above a bar called Southside Social, and I performed the show daily in August 2017 at 11:15pm. I wasn’t sure what to do with the show next. I gathered a team of friends together and we planned to film a special in January 2019.

I wanted the location to be important to the show's theme, so I filmed it at St George's Episcopal Church in New York City. The clergy and staff was kind enough to let me say some very dirty jokes in a sacred place. But the show deals with guilt and shame and is an honest story about real experience. I was grateful they understood the project.

When your heart beats next to mine

I am so excited to be releasing my debut comedy special. The first week I moved to New York in 2008 someone gave me tickets to Mike Birbiglia’s “Sleepwalk With Me” and I had never seen stand up blended with a story and it inspired me to try comedy and it took about a decade to tell my own story.

I am so proud of this show and making people laugh at the most painful and embarrassing parts of my life has way more enjoyable than I anticipated. And yes before anyone asks, it’s all true, every single word.
